About me

Hello and a very genuine welcome to you! You have found your way into my photo journal - a place for me to share some of my explorations of the world - its moods, feelings and vistas - through the frame of my camera. These 'pages' are an amiable nook - a haven to express and grow creatively - and, sometimes, an ear for me to whisper my thoughts and feelings about what I'm learning about life and the art of photography. It's a place to share!

As for my life, I live in a small, secluded valley high up in the Vermont hills in an old, slightly 'fixer-upper', 1850s farmhouse with my husband (a pastor), three tall lads, three dogs, a rabbit and about sixty chickens. (We dream of getting sheep and a goldfish!) I grew up in the big city of Pasadena, California where it is mostly sunny and warm year round. Now, after twenty years, here, in the countryside, nature and her four seasons still amaze and capture my heart! I love gardening, hospitality and cooking and deeply love music. I've played the piano since I was a child and I love to sing. I love it so very much, in fact, that I got my bachelor of music degree in vocal performance. Now, I consider my camera to be another instrument through which I can let my heart fly.

So, if you're of a ken - won't you come in and sit a spell? I genuinely hope that your visit here will feel as hospitable as sinking into a comfy armchair for a good rest and edifying chat.

"What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity, devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter, an art which could be a soothing, calming influence on the mind, something like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue."  ~ Henri Matisse
